Doula Services

My goal as a Doula is to help create the best birth experience for mamas and their partners. The word doula comes from the Greek meaning "a woman who serves" and is now used to refer to a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to the mother before, during and after the birth, or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period. Mothers and their partners discuss their ideal birth plan so that the doula and other care providers will know their preferences. Doulas try to keep pregnancy and birth a positive experience and when times get difficult, they help coach the mama or the partner (if present) on what they can do next to help.

Testimonials

"We chose Diana to be our Doula in our second home birth because of her joyful spirit, warm presence, and DONA birth training background. She was extremely attentive in all aspects of our doula care. She was with me for almost every contraction day and night for 34 hours: massaging, coaching and keeping my spirits high as we worked together to meet our baby. Her essential oil knowledge was also a huge asset during the labour and post partum. She also supplied ample support to my husband and made sure or birth requests were known and heard when the midwives arrived. Diana was actively present the whole time and we can't express how thankful we were to have her in our home. We highly recommend her doula care to all expecting parents!"
